There are plenty of opportunities to get down on the beach if you want to stop with the kids for a while and Rhyl has lots of places to eat and drink when you get to the end. It goes without saying that you should choose a settled day of dry and warm weather to get the very best out of this route – a wild and windy day would spoil things a lot and could be dangerous if the tide were in. From here a short walk through the town and down to the seaside again brings you back to the start.

The going is flat and straightforward and if you start at Prestatyn’s seafront Nova Centre you will find plenty of space to park your car.įrom there a superb and mostly easy approximately 3.5 mile/7.24 Km outing brings you to the Sea Life Centre in Rhyl where a conveniently placed bus stop gives you the option to ride back to Prestatyn. And because there is a concrete and surfaced sea wall for the whole distance it lends itself to parents of younger children who want somewhere they can push their pram or pushchair unimpeded for a few bracing miles. The long seafront and promenade that runs between Prestatyn and Rhyl is a wonderful stretch of coastline, and the sandy beach here is very popular and one of the best along this stretch of The North Wales coast.
